Wounded Veterans Project PROUDLY Support's Our LEO's!
Dear WVP Friends,
In 2020 and 2021 we did a Back the Blue bike/car/truck/whatever Parade. We gathered at The Shamrock in Suffield, CT. From there we were police escorted to Suffield Police Dept., then Windsor Police Dept. then Windsor Locks Police Dept. and then back to The Shamrock for music and fun. WVP organized this to show our LEO's that there are many people in our communities that CARE and appreciate all they do for ALL OF US!!! My husband and I were the lead bike it was a great honor to take us all through these PD's. Many officers, with their families, stood at attention as we rode passed. Children waved flags. People in the streets stopped and cheered. We all decorated our bikes/cars/trucks in RED WHITE AND BLUE and had Thin Blue Line Flags.
In 2021, we decided to ask our guests for a $10.00 donation (to my surprise many gave more) to do this ride. That way we could also raise money for our cause. Thanks to doing so, we were able to make a donation to a couple of the PD's as well as make plaques for all of them. The plaques are in surrounding pics here. We hope these will always remind our LEO's that we are here and we BACK THE BLUE!!!!
We hope to continue this tradition in 2022, as things don't seem to be getting any better for our LEO's.
Thank you to all LEO's EVERYWHERE!!! WVP BACK'S THE BLUE!!!
Thank you to all of those who participated.
We hope to see you, and new faces, again in 2022!
Sincerely,
Jeannie Miller and the WVP Team
